What is the word?
In Nathan Bierma's column "On Language" a reader asked a question. I'd love for us to answer it because we might get some ink in his column and a few new posters. Put on your thinking caps!

The reader said that he vaguely recalls from an English Lit class that there is a word that describes where the title of the book is first used in the book, or where the reason for the title of the book is made clear. Is there a word for this?

Wow, this really seems like something I should know. I have no clue! I'll do some looking around and see what I can discover.

I'm also certain there's a word, but I also have no idea what it is.

I am fairly sure there is one, too, but I surely can't remember it. Since no one here has posted an answer yet, I have sent out a couple of e-mails to others who may know. I am anxious to find out!
