Animalia
Having collected a number of animal words, and seeking a source for more, I naturally reverted here to Wordcraft. A search for "sciurine" found a 2002 thread: https://wordcraft.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/7416...956006511#9956006511

There, I found Anserine, Blattoid, Gallinaceous, Leporine, Passerine, Ranine and Sciurine.

Alas, the 2002 thread devolved into a debate on cuteness of rats and the nature of cocks.

Thus for the sake of completeness I append my cumulative results, and invite additions:

Anatine Duck
Asinine Donkey
Avian Bird
Bdelloid Leech
Bovine Cow
Canine Dog
Caprine Goat
Corvine Raven
Equine Horse
Feline Cat
Fringillaceous Finch-like
Leonine Lion
Lupine Wolf
Murine Mouse
Ophidian Snake
Oscine Songbird
Ovine Sheep
Phocine Seal
Piscine Fish
Porcine Pig
Saurian Lizard
Serpentine Serpent
Simian Ape
Taurine Bull
Ursine Bear
Vulpine Fox

Check the Junior Wordcraft board. There were some examples over there.

How about some more imaginative descriptions of animalia, such as those penned by Edward Lear:

"And the Golden Grouse came there,
And the Pobble who has no toes, --
And the small Olympian bear, --
And the Dong with a luminous nose.
And the Blue Baboon, who played the Flute, --
And the Orient Calf from the Land of Tute, --
And the Attery Squash, and the Bisky Bat, --
All came and built on the lovely Hat
Of the Quangle Wangle Quee."

Wikipedia lists almost 200 animal terms.

But one has to wonder how accurate the list is. For example, it tells you that badger-like is 'musteline' -- but so are ermine-like, ferret-like, marten-like, mink-like, polecat-like, skunk-like, stoat-like, weasel-like, and otter-like. It would be interesting to edit that list.

Wow, that list is amazing.

Can anyone edit a Wikipedia article? If so, how do you protect against bogus or incorrect submissions?
