shufitz'Windy' Flattery
Is there an etymological relationship between 'flattery' and 'flatulence'?

jheemI've never read anything to suggest it.
To flatter is connected with the Latin (and other) word s for 'flat', i.e.,
planus.
Flatus and
flatulence are both cognate with
to blow.
