Forgive this partially self-serving post, but I thought this would be of interest to fellow "linguaphiles". I've just published (Jan. 2009) a free online dictionary and thesaurus.
As the home page says... Mexidex is a free online dictionary and thesaurus with a simple interface, complete inflections, auto-suggest, adult-filtering, frequent updates, a browsable index, and support for handheld/mobile devices. It's fast too... For more info, see: http://www.memidex.com/_about TIP: To go to a random page, leave the "Find" box blank and then click "Go". I have many additions planned for Memidex. I welcome any feedback or comments you may have. -Serge Bohdjalian (Owner/Publisher of Memidex) |

Suggested addition #1: Add "epicaricacy" to your words.
[You had to have been posting here to understand this post. I say it with tongue in cheek because I love the word, have a blog about it, but it can only be found in dictionaries about rare words. Indeed, it isn't in the OED, though one could argue that it belongs there.] Welcome! |

"epicaricacy"... nice word. I've added it to my database as a synonym to Schadenfreude (but it won't show up until the next site-wide update in about a month).

Good to see you, sbohdjal. Welcome to the site. It's good to see another Canadian on board
Although we didn't get to Montreal, Kalleh, Shu and I very much enjoyed our visit to Toronto last May where we met Goofy, another of our members. Maybe next time my wife and I are in Canada we'll make Montreal - although the train journey from Vancouver is a bit of a long one. Oh, and my suggested word for inclusion is a neoligism I coined myself - catapostrophe - meaning the "catastrophic" misuse of the apostrophe. Richard English |
