So I was checking out this amazing new computational search engine and discovered it has some fascinating linguistics features.
Does anyone know what a 'synonym map' is, or how it is meant to be used? Alpha produces them on anything it takes to be input as a word (try 'factor' and redirect it to consider it as a word). It also provides amazing summaries of relevant information. I can see it saving lots of time checking multiple sources... |

It is very cool! I just wasted a lot of time over there, putting in my family's birth dates.
I don't know what a synonym map is, though. |

I was intending to post about this, but I see I've been beaten to it!
Dunno for sure what a synonym map or network might be, but at a guess it shows the main meanings of the word as synonyms, then shows graphically how many other words are in turn synonyms of those main words. Come on you raver, you seer of visions, Come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine! |
