Some years ago a friend took a photo at my behest of a rural Washington State road sign that meant to inform one that there was a Catholic Church three-quarters of a mile down the road, but the sign stated, "3/4 Catholic Church." And what was the other quarter, I wonder?

Golf Club, Spain:

Non members will have their balls removed.

And in another golf club:

"Gentlemen players are requested to wash their balls in the receptacle provided and not in the sink"

Ladies were, presumably, allowed to use the sink.

There is a notice that always amuses me on the bar of my local pub.

It says

At busy times our staff will be happy to top up glasses to ensure a full pint.

Presumably at times when they are less busy they won't be so helpful.
