Not at all; quite the opposite, in fact. You are being polite and self-effacing. This is the season for all those awards ceremonies; the Oscars, BAFTAs, Emmies and so on. Lots of the recipients of awards will start out their speeches saying they don't really deserve the award, although everybody knows they are really wondering why they didn't get one last year.

I wonder, arnie, if this is one of those UK/USA differences....or more likely, if I am just plain wrong.
