Second teaser question then.
Flashman is a liar, a bully, a cheat, a coward and has just about every other characteristic a villain ought to have. He's also the hero (maybe anti-hero) of the series. He's a true monster of a man but his candour in recounting his memoirs makes him seem like quite a likable chap providing you don't get between him and anything he wants or needs. Is he likeable rogue or is he so grotesquely self-centred that the reader can't find any point of sympathy with him? What do you think from the first few pages. I'm asking early because as time goes on and you get to know him better your opinions may change. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson. Read all about my travels around the world here. Read even more of my travel writing and poems on my weblog. My new blog - which I hope to keep more up to date than my old one. And don't miss this - my unpublished book, coming a chapter a week |
