Last week "quaquaversal" was one of tsuwm's words of the day. I wondered if there was another word with 2 "qu" sequences in them. I tried the pattern sequence of onelook, and couldn't find another (though that only goes through 1,000 words...yes, I have no life! )

Does anyone know of another word with 2 "qu" sequences? I probably am forgetting an obvious one!

I think quaquaversal could be a useful word. I can assure you that I have many colleagues who are quaquaversal in meetings!

Well, anything with quinque in it: Quinquagesima, quinquangular, quinquarticular, quinqueangled, quinquedentate, quinquefid, quinquefoliate, quinquelocular, quinquennial, etc.

I can't think of anything outside that group, with separated q's. I always liked the bantustan of Basotho Qwaqwa for its name.

I like that word, too, but it sure gives my left pinky an uncharateristic workout while typing! I had to look up 3 different words, aput - thanks for keeping me on my toes!

I've got to mention my favourite Maltese word, qroqqa 'brooding hen'. The Q is a glottal stop.

Ah...you see the problem was that the 1,000 words ended at the "quads." I should have remembered the "quinqu" words, though.

Can't say that I've heard of qroqqa, but sometimes I suppose I can be one!
