Amazing what words you can pick up from reading.

DUGONG

I first came across this in a science fiction story some 65+ years ago (Silenzia, by Alan Nelson [F&SF, September 1953, p.61]): "...My name is Emmett Dugong. It is important that I talk to you..."] but that has nothing to do with the usage I'm thinking of now.
