... by the time I could get back to England all the nuclear fallout bunkers will have already been rented out. As I need somewhere to live I'd consider buying one but with my luck Putin would launch a nuclear attack while I was out shopping and I'm fairly sure that most branches of Tesco aren't bomb proof.

If this escalates into WWIII, fallout bunkers will be useless. Quite a mess Putain has gotten us into!

Was your spelling there intentional? (Look "putain" up in French!)

Yes, Bob, it was one of the first French words I learned. Way back when Renault cars were sold in North America I worked for the West Coast distributor, so was exposed to many not-so polite expressions. Big Grin

Perhaps we should call him Poutine. Looks like a disgusting mess (although my Montreal-traveled son assures me to the contrary).

bethree5, are you back for a visit, or can we hope to see you here regularly? I've missed your good limerick submissions and insightful comments.

As for poutine, a few weeks ago I posted the following on Farcebook: Retraction from a small Quebec newspaper: "Yesterday we referred to the president of Russia as Vladimir Poutine. That was an error. His proper name is Vladimir Putain. We regret the error."

Oh, I have gotten bad too. My forum mantra has always been "slowness begets slowness." I promise to check in more too, though I know I've said that before. Roll Eyes
