I just purchased a new CD, and the chorus of one of the songs really struck me.

"At the end of the day
Did I laugh and dance enough
Did I tell my friends how much they really mean to me
At the end of the day
Did I really push myself
Or was I too afraid
To give my heart away
At the end of the day
"

The song is "At the End of the Day" by a new singer/songwriter by the name of Kellie Coffey. I have a strong love of music, especially music that moves my soul, and this really caught me the first time I heard it.

What stirs you?

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
Was blind but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

I recently reconnected with a friend I had not talked with in a very long time. While we spoke on the phone, this song came on, and brought me to tears.

I miss the colors that you brought into my life
Your golden smile, those blue-green eyes
I miss your gentle voice in lonely times like now
Saying it'll be alright

I miss my friend
The one my heart and soul confided in
The one I felt the safest with
The one who knew just what to say to make me laugh again
And let the light back in
I miss my friend

I try, without respect of french sounding, only
as literaly as possible. Very hard work ...

Sorry angel
Sorry so
Sorry angel
Sorry so

It's me, who commited your suicide
My love
I was not worth it
You know
Without me you decided
A beautiful day
Decided that you went away

Sorry angel
Sorry so
Sorry angel
Sorry so

The count had begun
Backwards
Was it dizziness, bad luck,
Who knows
A journey, one going, only
For a long-term
Where from we never return

Sorry angel
Sorry so
Sorry angel
Sorry so

I would have tried everything
My love
It was really not worth while
I know
That it was awful, in advance
My love
I do not have neither remorses nor regrets

Sorry angel
Sorry so
Sorry angel
Sorry so

It's me, who commited your suicide
My love
who opened you veins
I know
Now you are with the angels
For ever
For ever and ever

Sorry angel
Sorry so
Sorry angel
Sorry so

I'll try to find a solution you can hear it !

Serge Gainsbourg - Sorry Angel

It a 3,7 Mo mp3 file.

So, f you can't download it you can hear a little bad sample onAMAZON.fr, choose "MUSIQUE", then serach for "love on the beat" (with "quotes"), then click the 1st CD proposed and listen to 2nd song (few seconds, in a bad compression quality).

Safi, here is part of the song that inspired my name.

in the arms of an angel
fly away from here
...
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort there
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

It's from the song "Angel"
by Sarah McLachlan
from the "City of Angels" Soundtrack

My daughter just brought this to me, this very powerful song, to listen to. Please allow me to share it with you......

Well I just heard the news today
It seems my life is going to change
I closed my eyes, begin to pray
Then tears of joy stream down my face

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open

Well I don't know if I'm ready
To be the man I have to be
I'll take a breath, I'll take her by my side
We stand in awe, we've created life

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything ...oh yeah
With arms wide open..wide open

[Guitar Break]

If I had just one wish
Only one demand
I hope he's not like me
I hope he understands
That he can take this life
And hold it by the hand
And he can greet the world
With arms wide open...

With arms wide open
Under the sunlight
Welcome to this place
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
Now everything has changed
I'll show you love
I'll show you everything
With arms wide open
With arms wide open
I'll show you everything..oh yeah
With arms wide open....wide open

Where were you when the world stopped turnin'
that September day?
Out in the yard with your wife and children;
Or working on some stage in L.A.?
Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke
Rising against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger in fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?

Did you weep for the children
that lost their dear loved ones?
Did you pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
and sob for the ones left below?
Did you burst out in pride for the red white and blue
And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer?
And look at yourself for what really matters?

(Chorus)
I'm just a singer of simple songs;
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference
in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is Love.

Where were you when the world stopped turning
That September day?
Teaching a class full of innocent children;
Driving down some cold interstate?
Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivor
in a crowded room did you feel alone?
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her?
Did you dust off that bible at home?

Did you open your eyes hope it never happened;
And close your eyes and not go to sleep?
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages;
Or speak to some stranger on the street?
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow;
Go out and buy you a gun?
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin'
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns?

Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers?
Stand in line and give your own blood?
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love?

(Chorus)
I'm just a singer of simple songs;
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference
in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is Love.

I'm just a singer of simple songs;
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the difference
in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, Hope and Love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is Love.
And the greatest is Love.
And the greatest is Love.

Where were you when the world stopped turnin'
that September day?

When I walked in
The band just started
The singer couldn't carry
a tune in a bucket.
Was on a mission to drown her memory but
I thought no way with all this ruckus.

But after One round with Jose Quervo
I caught my boots tappin 'long to the beat.
And after Two rounds with Jose Quervo
that band was sounding pretty darn good to me.

Then some stranger asked me dance
And I revealed to her my two left feet.
Said don't get me wrong I'm glad you asked
But tonight's about me and an old memory.

But after Three rounds with Jose Quervo
I let her lead me out on the floor
And after Four rounds with Jose Quervo
I was showin' off moves never seen before.

After round 5 or round 6
I done forgot what I come to forget.
After round 7 or was it 8?
I bought a round for the whole dang place!

After nine rounds with Jose Quervo
They were countin' me out
And I was about to give in
The after ten rounds with Jose Quervo...

I lost count and started countin' again!

One round with Jose Quervo
I went Two rounds with Jose Quervo
Three rounds with Jose Quervo
Five rounds with Jose Quervo
or was it five?
Six rounds with Jose Quervo

A rollicking folk-song by Stan Rogers: The Mary Ellen Carter

She went down last October in a pouring driving rain.
The skipper he'd been drinking and the Mate he felt no pain.
Too close to Three Mile Rock, and she was dealt her mortal blow,
And the Mary Ellen Carter settled low.
There were five of us aboard her when she finally was awash.
We'd worked like hell to save her, all heedless of the cost.
And the groan she gave as she went down, it caused us to proclaim
That the Mary Ellen Carter'd rise again.

Well, the owners wrote her off; not a nickel would they spend.
"She gave twenty years of service, boys, then met her sorry end.
But insurance paid the loss to us, so let her rest below."
Then they laughed at us and said we had to go.
But we talked of her all winter, some days around the clock,
For she's worth a quarter million, afloat and at the dock.
And with every jar that hit the bar, we swore we would remain
And make the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

(refrain)
Rise again, rise again,
That her name not be lost to the knowledge of men.
For those who loved her best and were with her till the end,
We'll make the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

All spring, now, we've been with her on a barge lent by a friend.
Three dives a day in hard hat suit and twice I've had the bends.
Thank God it's only sixty feet and the currents here are slow
Or I'd never have the strength to go below.
But we've patched her rents, stopped her vents, dogged hatch and porthole down.
Put cables to her, 'fore and aft and girded her around.
Tomorrow, noon, we hit the air and then take up the strain.
And watch the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

(refrain)

For we couldn't leave her there, you see, to crumble into scale.
She'd saved our lives so many times, living through the gale
And the laughing, drunken rats who left her to a sorry grave
They won't be laughing in another day. . .
And you, to whom adversity has dealt the final blow
With smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go
Turn to, and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain
And like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again.

Rise again, rise again
Though your heart may be broken, your life about to end
No matter what you've lost, be it a home, a love, a friend,
Like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again.

Wash Away Thoose Years

She came calling
One early morning
She showed her crown of thorns
She whispered softly
To tell a story
About how she had been wronged
As she lay lifeless
He stole her innocence
And this is how she carried on

Well I guess she closed her eyes
And just imagined everything's alright
But she could not hide her tears
'Cause they were sent to wash away those years
They were sent to wash away those years

My anger's violent
But still I'm silent
When tragedy strikes at home
I know this decadence Is shared by millions
Remember you're not alone

For we have crossed many oceans
And we labor in between
In life there are many quotients
And I hope I find the mean

A friend came to me with this song told me to listen to. The words are very powerful and have a powerful meaning
