The Academy issues their little edicts regularly and everybody else in the country ignores them. Do you remember way back in the early days of this board when a lot of APS refugees came here? One of the things discussed over there was the idea of an English academy to monitor the purity of English. Utter nonsense of course but I'll bet it would take me about ten minutes to find people who still think it would be a good idea.
