...apparently is email with exclamation points, at least according to an article in the Tribune. The author points out 5 transgressors: 1) New hires - they are too eager to show a positive attitude. They'll be given a pass, but not for long. 2) Reciprocal users - That is, you can't help responding with an ! when others use them. 3) Excited closers - Adding a little more oomph the sign-off, such as Thanks! 4) The sarcastic exclamation point - Under the guise of sincerity or joy, though intended to be sardonic. (Frankly, there should be a word for that.) 5) Human exclamation points - These people are chipper and peppy in email and real life. They seem happy, but the author is skeptical, at best.
