From the paper: Emily Farrell teaches English and creative writing at _______ High School. One of her favorite assignments is to hand students an article from The Wall Street Journal and ask them to write a love poem in which virtually every word comes from the story. . . ."Do they groan? Whine? Shake their heads? Yup," Mrs. Farrell says. . . .Why love? "Love is a topic they are interested in." . . .Why The Wall Street Journal? "Otherwise, you'd get fluffy clouds and 'my love is like a rose,'" she says. "I try to use something that makes them think." . . .The atmosphere in the classroom can get a little steamy as her 11th and 12th graders pore over Journal articles, looking for double meanings in the business terms. Assets, mergers, partnerships, signaled intentions – even exposure – can take on new connotations in the light of love.
He focused on her sharply Greeting her with a wave Squeezing the uncertainties away With a strong hand, comforting her Assuring her of a potentially increased outlook ahead. Take a feature story from page 1, or the like from another paper. This message has been edited. Last edited by: shufitz,

thanks to the London Times business section... On Losing Weight She had the most delicate of knees. The attributes of brown ale, Tinned spaghetti and vinyl floor tiles Could not account for the appeal. Her streamlined lap, weight dimished, Gained recognition and admiration. The problem is the maintenance, of course.

Wow, Jo - that is fantastic! I suppose I'll actually need to read the paper for this game, eh? ******* "Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. ~Dalai Lama

I'd take the words as read. Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

what do you mean, Arnie? I'm disappointed more people aren't trying this. It is fun, but I don't want to monopolize the airwaves. C'mon, try it.

I intend to. I just haven't had a moment to do it yet, but be assured I'll get to it today. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

All words from the business of page of my local paper tonight. Not sure you'd call it a love poem as such though. As expected These tough conditions That regulate the spirits And demand the interest Undermine the commitment. Is this better than expected? No this is as expected. These are the final grounds These turnabout, turnaround So-called social bounds Of captured, momentary sound. Is this better than expected? No, this is as expected. This is the bottom line – All things must decline, The loss was predefined For those who read the signs. Is this worse than expected? No this is as expected. All is as expected. Sorry, I was trying to make a joke. It obviously didn't work. Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Wall Street Erotica? Visiting Kalleh and Shu, who get the WSJ, I was able to finally do this challenge! Hope it's not too naughty . . . Your speech has caused developments sensitive to keep afloat that good disarming tension which slices through my seoul (sic). Your previously impoverished peninsula lines up at my widening split to increase unification before we both collapse. ******* "Happiness is not something ready made.
