Looking to the elections that we in the US are holding tomorrow, a limerick appeared in today's newspaper attributed to John Biederman (or Blederman; the font was unclear to my antique eyes). Our forefathers fought to defend voting rights – on which freedom depends. So to honor their fight vote and strengthen our right to choose freely between two rear ends.

This verse was in the book I am reading about WWII. Since this is a political thread, I will post it here. With the Brits and Americans on this board, I thought it appropriate: Oh, when you Yanks came marching in, You mocked our language, drank our gin; You wooed our girls, and all the while You gave your lives for the English isle.

On Friday, Hu Jintao was named chief of China's Communist Party. I have received a transcript of the cogent analysis of this event at the US White House.
