Pick your fave:

Question:
1
In Australia's a great city, Crackenback,
Where nothing is simply just black 'n white,
Their Lake Crackenback spa
Makes you oooh and you ahhhh!
Though the prices will make people hack an' bark!

2
There’s a guy I know named Mac
Who resides in Crackenback
Though big and burly
Friends call him Shirley
‘Cause he loves to yak and yak

3
Sittin' relaxed in a trackin' shack
Up in the back roads of Crackenback,
A vehicle drove past
With sub-woofers full blast
Pumpin' a big track from "Back in Black".

4
HackenBUSH, I said, NOT, HackenBLACK
I’m a hack, at the track, Crackenback
Can I pep up your horse
With this powder? Of course!
Just apply to the mare’s back’n’crack.

* Note: Dr Hugo Z Hackenbush is a disreputable horse doctor played by Groucho Marx in A Day At The Races.

5
I'm Michael, policeman from Crackenback
Now in Boston, I live in a shack in back.
I stop traffic and trucklings
To Make Way for Ducklings
That's Jack, Kack, Lack, Mack, Nack, Ouack, Pack, an' Quack.

* Note: Robert McCloskey wrote a children's book in 1941 entitled "Make Way for Ducklings".

6
Though Cenk left for Crackenback
TYT went on attack
Jimmy Dore pouted
As Ana shouted
At Trump’s recent lack of tact

7
I know an old Aussie from Crackenback
With ladies and gals he's a crackerjack
He's no longer buff--
He just buys them stuff!
They know when he shows he is packin' jack.

8 No votes yet so added a late entry:
Finding a doctor in Crackenback
And one who isn't a slackin' quack,
Is hard, but I did
And we now have a kid
And in bed she is a crackerjack!

Choices:
1
2
3
4
5
6
7
8

I think I know Hab's. We are probably beginning to recognize each others' (apostrophe, right?).

That's a grand total of 2 votes so far, do you guys want me to break the 1-1 tie, by choosing a winner from those 2, or are we going to get more votes?

If that’s a vote, Geoff, I think you have to choose it in the Poll to make it count.

I assumed he had, in the same way that I assumed you had after you also made a comment here, as in, his and yours are the 2 votes I have, one for 3 and one for 5. That's the 2 votes in the poll is it not?

I inferred that Kalleh had cast a vote, but I could be wrong. I also voted. That’s the two I “know” of.

It looks to me like there is one vote for #2 and four for #5. I don't think that anyone is going to pass #5. Congratulations to the person who created it!

Yes there are 5 votes now, but it is one for 3 and 4 for 5. Easiest to see by counting down from the top left.

2. Sattva
3. Yours truly
4. Bob
5. Haberdasher
6. Sattva
7. Bethree5

Hip hip hurrah, haberdasher!

Greg, I hit 2 instead of the 3 key. I would have been really surprised if I had received a vote.

By the way, Hab, glad my limerick brought back memories of Otis Redding and Jimmy Buffet to you, it was unintentional. Your comment however made me think of "The Small Faces" and "Lazy Sunday Afternoon".

I voted for yours, too, Hab. I wonder where you will choose as the next place.

Hmm. Slow Internet connection today. Maybe it's not just us being all busy with Thanksgiving preparations, or maybe we're getting a little tired of rhyming.

So after a week of no versifying I was trying to think of a simple name, like SYDNEY, until I noticed I could hardly find any rhymes myself, except for "kidney," and that wasn't too encouraging.

Let's try a different tack. I have two sons living in North Carolina, not to far from DURHAM. Let it be so. DURHAM it is. That's pronounced with a schwa and a silent H: DUR'-әm.

I'll start a new thread with this. Should be easy to find, or just click here .
