Greetings sensation seekers, the next round of the Limerick Game is set in Muncie (The one in Indiana, where they keep Geoff.)

Please extinguish your cigarettes and ensure your trays are in the upright position. Thank you.

That lim in the other thread wore out my "Muncie" rhymes.

Should I accept that one as your submission then?

Or would people object to that because it wouldn't be anonymous?

Wait...Is Muncie pronounced as 'Munsee' or as 'Munsy'(to rhyme with 'sigh')?

Just kidding!

It's "Munseigh" if you live in Partridge Green. Big Grin

What??? You mean it's not pronouced 'monkey'?
Well that completely ruins both the rhyme and the premise of my submission.

Alphie, how nice of you to do Muncie! I think it will bring on some fun rhymes! I am chatting with Bob right now on gmail and will ask him to write a limerick. He's great with fun rhymes.

I see from the Wikipedia link that it was originally called "Munsee" the pronunciation of which spelling is usually unequivocal. If Muncie has retained that original pronunciation then there can be no doubt - it's "MUNsee".

Which pronunciation I shall, in the absence of further information, use.

I pronounce it MUN-see, and mine's in. That's also how Bob was going to pronounce it.

To date, I have received a grand total of two submissions. I'm beginning to wonder whether my private messaging mechanism is working.

Kalleh, you haven't sent one yet, have you?

EDIT No, wait, my mistake - I had three submissions at the time of writing and have received one from Kalleh - I'm just going mad.

I now have four.

The rhymes for Muncie are severely limited, IMO.

I assume Kalleh, that you and Shu assist each other to achieve this end, as do most of us with spouses, but others will have other techniques, some assisted by devices no doubt.

Huh?

If you are asking if Shu helps me with my limericks, he doesn't. I will often read them to him, but that's the end of it. He is much more talented than I am so you'd recognize if he helped me.

But maybe you are asking something else?

I think it was you doing the asking, Kalleh! Rather a personal question, too. Wink Eek

If Arnie's extra hint isn't enough for you to get the joke, Kalleh, then perhaps that tells us all a little something you'd rather we didn't know about you and Shu.

Oh, gosh. I am such a dunderhead sometimes. Roll Eyes
The funny part is, when I posted it, I thought about that possible interpretation and then thought, "Nah. Not on Wordcraft."

Progress Report: I now have seven Muncie limericks and might post the poll soon.

Does anyone else still wish to enter?

We are anxiously awaiting.

I will jiggle Shu's elbow. He has had such good ideas about this one, but he hasn't followed through.

I was waiting for the shu to drop, but as there's no sign of any action from thereabouts, I'll post the poll later today (depending on what country you're in.)

Sorry, Alphie. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't always make him drink!

I will be in Spain by the end of today and so probably won't be able to undertake the poll - unless the hotel has internet access. I am told that my new telephone has internet access - but I have enough trouble using just it to make telephone calls, so I doubt I'll be using it to log on.
