Your week from hell story reminded me of some of my son's stories. He's an Aussie married to a Japanese girl. He is teaching English at Xiamen University and his wife is doing a degree there, although they originally went there (from Japan) just to study Chinese. Anyway I have forwarded him a link to your Blog which I can see him reading and saying to himself things like, "Yes - I know what you mean", and "of course yes Why do they do that?" and finally concluding with "at last someone who feels my pain".
I'm not trying to be a spoilsport, but I thought we'd agreed it would be best not to post limericks in the open thread before the entries were posted? That would also logically include part-limericks.
Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

Well I thought Proof's 2-line partial limerick was intended as a joke, and not likely to form part of any entry he would submit, and I just tried to continue the joke by suggesting a slight variation that one possibly could work with. It is not part of my official entry, and if somebody out there chooses to use it as the basis of an official entry, I say good luck to them, and if it's good enough I might even vote for it. I would have thought such good humoured banter was OK?
OK checking back in here folks & sorry to have been AWOL. Just trying to get my head screwed back on after vacational visits to FOO [family of origin]. Perhaps I've already noted, I use limericking instead of counting sheep-- will try to turn some of that dozy dross into gold pronto.

You there Bob? Or have authorities where you are put the same ban on Wordcraft as they have on Google and Facebook? If not then do you have enough to go to the vote yet?
