C J Strolin LSFIAB = "Let's soak flounder in a Budweiser" (Can't be any worse than Lutefisk!)
But "Regular eating comes just below happiness"?
Just below happiness?? If I eat regularly, I'm almost at the point of being happy? I realize that there are no rules but might one of the "guidelines" have to do with striving to make some sort of logical linguistical sense? Let's try that one again:

BLOFITJanuary 29, 2003, 10:27
C J Strolin BLOFIT = Beer lovers observe: "Foam is tasty!"
No it's not. It's annoying, yet one more advantage of the use of... oh, never mind.
SYBSYB(a hint: The answer I have in mind, a directive famous in the 80's, was preceded by "
SSSSSS.")

SACGMSJanuary 30, 2003, 07:31
arnieSitting astride cows gives me shakes.
TSFGMSJanuary 30, 2003, 16:06
C J Strolin"Sitting astride cows gives me shakes." I assume, then, that they'd be milk shakes?
TSFGMS = Torrid sexual fantasies give me satisfation.
I might be tempted to branch that out into a new thread but seeing as how my illicit drug lingo thread hit the ground with such a thud, I'll let this pass.
If anyone cares,
SSSSSS SYBSYB was inspired by the image of R.E. disco-ing down with his bad 80's self in another thread to the tune of "(Shake, Shake, Shake! Shake, Shake, Shake!) Shake Your Booty! Shake Your Booty!" by K. C. and the Sunshine Band.
VERRRY imaginative answers lately, everybody. Well done!

No joke: Columbia Shuttle Accident; Loss of All
Just one week after the seventeenth anniversary of the first shuttle disaster. The woman who was Christa McAuliffe's backup for the first disaster was scheduled on Columbia's next mission. Somebody wants her alive, it seems, or there's some thaumatologic explanation.
RIPSSC[This message was edited by Asa Lovejoy on Sat Feb 1st, 2003 at 14:37.]
February 01, 2003, 14:09
C J Strolin RIPSSCThe obvious answer is "Rest in Peace, Space Shuttle crew." If I may be so presumptuous as to speak on behalf of not just all Americans but all those who share the spirit of adventure and exploration that the space program represents, I greatly appreciate the sentiment. Thank you, Asa.
Speaking just for southern Illinois, we're a wreck here. The shuttle disaster is having a similar effect as the 9/11 tragedy - people walking around seemingly in shock, eyes teary, dazed by the enormity of it all.
Rather than the obvious answer to this game at this point, I would like to offer an alternative response, spoken not just from one person's individual viewpoint (not mine, not George Bush's, not even a symbolic Uncle Sam's) but rather from the view of all those people, worldwide, who share that spirit of adventure and who mourn the loss of their family members today.
RIPSSC = "Resolutely I promise: Shuttles shall continue."
There
will be further disasters.
There
will be further loss of life.
And yet progress
will continue. That's just the way we are.
WIPGLB(I have nothing in mind with these six letters. They're picked totally at random, a reflection, if anything, to the randomness of tragedy.)

WhitneyKalleh, you forgot your six letters - understandable given the recent topic of the thread.
On a lighter note:
quote:
ALWHNB = "Asa Lovejoy: Whitney Houston's New Beau!"
***************************************
I think she smokes, and I'm an asthmatic, so NO WAY!!!
Sorry to disappoint, I am definetly not that woman. I love having an unusual name, I just wish I didn't have to share it with her!
I can't keep up with the rate at which you all post on this board - I think I'm destined to remain a junior member for ever.

Whitney
February 03, 2003, 07:12
<Asa Lovejoy>Don't worry about the frequency of your posts, Whitney, just contribute when you feel motivated.
Now, since you didn't leave any letters behind except your name, I'll have a go with it:
WHITNEY: Whitney Houston Is Tawdry; Not Exactly You
OK, seven leters, but at least it gets us back on track - assuming that we ever were.

RAKISHFebruary 04, 2003, 15:09
C J Strolin RAKISH = Richard and Kalleh inspire Strolin's humor. (Of course, only one of them gets it on any sort of regular basis but that's besides the point.)
For what it's worth, my
KKDFYS was a follow-up to the Japanese monster movie idea and came from a button I proudly wore in the late 60's: "King Kong died for your sins."
And now, a tip of the Wordcrafter hat to our newest poster:

Less than 10 hours go by without a response and you get feisty?? Jeeze, gimmie a break! I've had my royal hands full with the limerick thread.
And Kalleh,
HTFAGA? = "How the f*** are grooms attained?"
First off, the language! What's gotten into you? And are you suggesting that all is not paradise on the home front? I
beg you not to take this R.E. beer infatuation thing too seriously!
KSTKHS This, of course, can mean an infinite number of things although what I have in mind would be better expressed as

(I add that so R.E. won't get his feathers all in a fluff again and irately state that the movie star never met the Russian. I know, R.E., I know.)

LGBTTG = Lacy garters beautify the thighs, gals!
QWERTYFebruary 11, 2003, 18:49
TrossLQuestion why exacting Richard tried yodeling.
Quirky women exasperate really tight-assed yuppies.
(CJ- Love the word qwerty, great in Scrabble. I think it's more fun when the 6 letters make a new or unusual word.)
By the way folks, my last 6 letters BHAKTI was kind of in honor of Valentines Day. It is the word in Buddhism that means the love and devotion a follower feels for someone more spiritually advanced. Although in the Hindu religion it means knowing God through love and devotion.
