In honor of my return, here is a word for your consideration. "Can you use that in a sentence?" "No, I don't think so. No clues..."

SCHOENOBATIST -- And yes, it is an English word.

Jo,

When I try to send you a PM I get an error:

Can you look at your buddy list, please?

You've chosen to ignore my word? I accidentally posted a new one before CW's word was finished. What's become of it?

Asa my dear! I think you should do your cool word right after this one. Not ignoring, but giving you room to use it yourself . . .

I'm sorry, Asa. I didn't see it. Do you want me to withdraw this one?

No. I was just confused. That's happened a lot lately! I jumped over CW's, then you jumped over mine! Confused

There musth be an explanation: too many threads intervening, so that yours was below the windowsill and couldn't be seen, is my best guess.

I gather we'll resurrect it next.

Could we have a few more daffynitions, please? Pretty please?

Okay. Guess that's it on the daffynitions, so here we go...

1. A thatcher; someone skilled in making a roof from straw or reeds

2. A social secretary with special protocol training for writing notes to dignitaries.

3. A veterinary assistant trained in specialized holistic treatments, named after Dr. Allen Schoen, a New York holistic veterinarian.

4. A beautiful waterfall

5. A preacher or prosyletiser. Originally a loanword, inaccurately transliterated, from French ("Jean-Baptiste") into German

6. A tight-rope walker.

7. An attack on one's character.

8. A cryptographer. Named after Commander Tobias Schoen, who virtually singlehandedly organized and nurtured the US Navy's Cryptology efforts in World War II, ultimately resulting in the cracking of Japan's Indigo code.

9. The name of the first knitting machine invented in England in 1589.

Votes until Saturday morning.

I'll take 2. They're small.

(But I'd feel much less insecure if there wasn't a spelling error in "protocol".

Unless...Naah, you couldn't be that devious.

Could you?)

not that devious. Just didn't copy things correctly. For some reason my cut and paste function is not working and I had to retype some of the daffynitions. Perhaps I will simply edit it to correct the spelling. Then again, it could be the real deal and I typed it wrong. I can fabricate falsifications with the best of them.

You'll never know.
