Attempting to do my regular weekly food shopping today I discovered that the supermarket car parks were so crowded that it was impossible to get onto most of them. Thus I ended up at Tesco, some distance away from my home, where I rarely shop. Inside I discovered that I could buy, in separate aisles CD,S DVD,S and Radio,s. And yes, those are commas, not apostrophes. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

I've seen it before. Some people call apostrophes inverted commas. Naybe these are reverted apostrophes. —Ceci n'est pas un seing.

In Wetherspoons yesterday I had a pint of "Ashes Ale". On going for a refill I noticed that was written on the clip, below the name, "Not for Aussie's". I asked the barman who Aussie was, and what possession it was of his that this ale was not intended for; unsurprisingly he had no idea (indeed, he probably hadn't a clue what I was talking about!)
