At a public campaign rally in New Mexico (we Americans are in the throes of an election!), those present were asked to sign a "public loyalty" oath: "I, [name], do herby endorse [blank blank] for [office was named]." The form went on to say that by signing it your name will be published as an endorser of that candidate. On a formal oath that gives them the right to publish your name, wouldn't you think they'd get the spelling of hereby right? I mean...even a spellchecker would have picked that up!

herby Maybe Herby is the name of the candidate. Or at least his secret name.

You would probably not be surprised to learn who this candidate is. However, I am committed to not making this a political post!
