You've all probably heard of araprosdokians, but I haven't. They are figures of speech where the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected, and frequently humorous. Such as: Where there's a will, I want to be in it! Do you have any? [Corrected spelling error in title]This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kalleh,

I couldn't find that word, but I did find paraprosdokian. Wikipedia has an article on it. So does World Wide Words. This message has been edited. Last edited by: tinman,

I'm going to miss you, unless I get the sights on this rifle fixed. A bird in the hand will probably peck off your thumb. A friend in need is a pest. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

My source must have left off the "p!" Or else I did. I have been traveling for work and just don't remember where I found that word. I think it was in some local newspaper. I have edited the title so I don't look like more of an idiot than I actually am.
