Sorry Puccini, but I needed a catchy headline. Is it possible that memes operate in the same way that biological evolution does? I just finished a book which suggests that they fill in the gaps that Darwinian evolution contains regarding human evolution, such as having far more cerebral cortex than simple Darwinian evolution can explain, and language development, and that culture has driven intellectual development. What say you? The book in question is this: http://www.amazon.com/On-Origi...selves/dp/1439110239 PS, if you don't get my pun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4rsu11K3PY It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. It's an interesting concept, but it sounds a little far-fetched to me. | |||
