A week before Bush and Blair let slip the dogs of war, New Your Times columnist Thomas Friedman gave a speech wherein he used the phrase, "Tikkan Olam." It's a Hebrew term meaning something similar to "Repair of the world." Are any of you familiar with this concept in more depth? How does the concept infuse Judasim, if indeed it does, and why do we hear so little of what seems a concept desperately needed in a world wherein political soundbites outweigh reason and compassion?
