I'll be 59 in two weeks which makes me one of the oldest foreigners in Yangshuo by quite a margin. As a result I tend to drink and socialise with a lot of people half my age. There was a party at a bar last night where someone told me that I am "pretty cool for an old guy". "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

Who mentioned Chinese? All my friends are expats. This was from a Brit. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

Age is so relative these days. 50s is the old 40s.

Well as today is my birthday I suppose I could think about the fact that in exactly one year I won't be in my 50s any more. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.
