I admit that I am rather baffled by a statement I heard yesterday on the radio from an NHS spokesman. He said, "The number of people reaching the final year of their life is going to rise by twenty five per cent." Presumably the other seventy five per cent won't live to reach the final year of their life.

Umm. I acknowledge that, whatever statistic he was trying to convey, he didn't express it very well...

The Government needs to do something. It is simply appalling that so many people die in the final year of their life. It can't be allowed to go on.
