This week's lesson is the last lesson of the term and so I've been doing a nice, fun, easy lesson about Summer holidays which includes singing the song "Summer Holiday" by Cliff Richard. Yesterday one of the girls asked me if Cliff is his real name and, when I told her it was, she asked why he was named after "a kind of mountain". Before I play the song to them I always tell them that if I see any students reading, doing homework, sleeping or any of the other things students here regularly do then they will have to stand up and sing the song themselves to the class. This usually results in the students gasping and promising to behave but today led one girl to raise her hand and ask, "If I sing the song first, can I do my homework?"This message has been edited.
