For the pagans among us, enjoy the shortest night of the year!

Umm - wasn't it the longest night of the year? Do you have traditions that you follow on that night? I got a lovely card from a friend about reflecting back on the year and looking with hope upon the future and all that. ******* "Happiness is not something ready made. My tradition is to get a good, LONG night's sleep! And yes, it IS the longest. Lazy Asa and addle-pated

The longest night of the year is more bearable now that our pubs can open for longer than they used to be allowed to. Incidentally, in spite of the nonsense that made the media about "uncontrolled binge drinking", initial reports support my own contention, which was that there would be fewer, rather than more, alcohol-related problems. This I have heard from both bar staff and the local police officers. Richard English
