It's exam marking time again. The topic is writing a letter for a job application. One student's attempts at describing her personal qualities are definitely in the running to win this year's award for the most bizarre mistake. She is, apparently, "physically friendly and thrustworthy". "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

And no, I'm not asking for suggestions as to what the job applied for was. "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

Oh dear! I understand the typo with "trustworthy," but what could she have meant by "physically friendly?"

I think she may have been trying to say that she is a friendly person capable of doing physically hard work. But I could be wrong. This message has been edited. Last edited by: BobHale, "No man but a blockhead ever wrote except for money." Samuel Johnson.

"Thrustworthy" might just be a typo but combined with "physically friendly" only one action springs to mind.
