Those Australians are witty, aren't they? As the Tribune reported, they are noted for their "irreverent" sense of humor. Apparently there is a new sign for speeders that has the whole world watching. In this sign passengers and passersby wave their pinkie fingers -- a gesture suggesting a certain lack of physical endowment -- at show-off male drivers. The message is that show-off male drivers don't impress anyone. However, this campaign has become so popular that: "Within days of their [the ads] appearance on TV, in cinemas, at bus stops and on buses, the road authority's Web site -- which also carried the ad -- registered more than 100,000 downloads and crashed three times. Now on YouTube, the ad has drawn more than a half-million views." Apparently the English and the Irish have inquired about possibly using the ad. I'm thinking it wouldn't work here in the U.S.; some group would be offended. | ||
