I wish that they would stop using IS as an abbreviation for Islamic State in all caps headlines. My first thought on seeing "IS FIGHTER'S KIDS LEFT ORPHANED" was "Shouldn't that be ARE FIGHTER'S KIDS?"

We have gone crazy with them at my place. The most recent is the title of a new wonderful program we are offering - we're calling it GLARE (Global Leadership Academy of Regulatory Excellence). GLARE???? Oh my. Some of us wanted to change it to REGAL, but others objected because of the reference to royalty. I wish we could just name things with words - like this would be the Global Academy. The argument about that is that there are "so many." So what???
