I posted a link on my Blog to NRO because James Robbins had used epicaricacy in his general writing...without citing it as a rare word or defining it, which doesn't happen often. However, the author also introduced me to cacozelia, which I really like. It means " studied affectation in diction or style, as in a speech filled with pedantic latinisms and inkhorn words." Great word!

Was he in reference to the late William F. Buckley?
