Our museamusehas graciously consented to give us a weekly theme of "words from the greek". I understand that you're about to start idling on a brief idyl, cool but here's your spot, to use before or after. smile

Because I need to do a little more preparation for this than I have time for right now, I will start this thread when I get back from idling on my idyll. I hope you don't mind terribly and thanks for the spot! cool

Hope you don't mind if I jump start you here Muse?

I found this in the paper tonight and found it very interesting!

Q: How did the marathon -- a race of 26 miles and 385 yard -- acquire its name?

A: The name is from the run in ancient Greece by Pheidippides from Marathon to Athens to announce news of a military victory.

So, now you know!
