My logophile friend sent me a note about the etymology of "chapel," which really is quite interesting. Here is a link explaining the legend of St. Martin of Tours. I hadn't heard of St. Martin of Tours before. The link indicates that there is a St. Martin's saint's day in Germany on November 11. Is this celebrated anywhere else in the world? | ||
