CaterwaullerHead in the game
The "eye on the ball" discussion made me think of this phrase. It is commonly used elsewhere, or just around here?
quote:
You need to keep your head in the game if you're going to win.

KallehIt's definitely used around here. I wondered if its origin was from a quote or a specific game, but I couldn't find anything about its origin. There is a site about clichés which defined it, but the section on origins was blank.

wordmaticIt's probably one of those American sportswriter/coach phrases, like "winningest team," which drives me nuts.
(edit: should I remove this and start a new thread with it?)
(edit, edit: is it dumb to ask questions like this here where freedom of expression is the rule?)

CaterwaullerIt would be interesting to share other weird sport-related phrases. I don't know why, exactly, but I do like lists.
