Boobquake is the name given to an event this Monday. An Iranian cleric declared that earhtquakes were caused by lascivious women and this bunch will try to produce a temblor by dressing provocatively. Naturally, I mention this only to make you aware of the word at the beginning of this post. Yeah!

I thought that cleric might be on to something because I was in bed this morning with my wife and the earth moved. Then I realized I hit the switch on the Craftmatic.

Well, it was supposed to happen yesterday (26 April) and there was an earthquake near Taiwan. Since there is an earthquake somewhere every day that's not very surprising. See here. Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

There you are, bethree5? Well, as we all know there's a mountain range called "The Grand Tetons," which is French for "The Big Boobs," and since mountains are caused by crustal plate shifting and/or vulcanism, the mullah's mostly right! And the smaller volcanoes around here DO look like boobs! It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. Krishnamurti

Proof, vulcanism is responsible for guy-sers too. It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society. -J. Krishnamurti

That's the problem with association, versus causal, research. People (sometimes scientists) frequently misunderstand the difference. They find a significant correlation, and suddenly it's a cause. Of course, in this situation there is no statistical correlation. It's just that earthquakes happen everyday so anything that happens everyday could be "associated" with them. I suppose I am a little "cheaper" than Bethree, but here I am. Link
