In nursing we describe "formative" evaluation as that where the nurse is being developed, and "summative" evaluation as that final evaluation of the nurse (maybe at the end of a course or the end of a program). I was reading an article today written by Canadians, and they used the terms "formative" and "certificative" evaluations. Have you heard this before? Is "certificative" used in place of "summative" in Canada? How about England?
