Also spelled acoluthic (< Greek ἀκολουθέω (akoloutheō) 'to follow', Oldish word, meaning 'subsequent, following'; mostly used in a theological context.

I've not heard it before. I suppose it would be meaningful to theologians, but probably not the rest of us.
