Ah, in that case I'd say it sounds like a straightforward metaphor. A blowtorch is hot, their rock is hot hence "blowtorch rock". The writer might just as easily have said "atomic rock" or "blast furnace rock" or "flame thrower rock" or any other metaphorical description indicating that the band have a powerful and "scorching" sound.
All of the above examples get some ghits used in this metaphorical sense as do "scorched earth rock", "thermo nuclear rock" and "blazing rock".This message has been edited. Last edited by: BobHale,
