Until moving to Indiana I had not heard of a liquor purchase as being a "package." Is it common elsewhere?

Well, I certainly haven't, and we're in the Midwest too.

Interestingly, though on another subject, I was just reading an article that the Midwest is where millennials can afford homes. They were showing what could be bought for $50,000, and in a little city in Indiana, they described a great home with lots of land.
