An article in The Baltimore Sun discussed the news orientation of Al Jazeera as being "global South." I had not heard that term, but it's in reference to the two hemispheres, with the older news media being focused on the Northern hemisphere. Very interesting, Geoff, that they consider U.S. lociations, such as the Baltimore inner city, just as much a part of the Global South as Asian or African nations that suffered under colonial rules. | |||
