I would like to get a "maneuver" named for a doctor who has taught it since 1973 and was likely the first person to use it as far as is known (though how can you ever really know?)
At least one textbook has given him credit but I would like it to be "official". Does anyone know how to initiate the process?

I am not an authority here, but I'd think people would have to start calling it the "Smith" maneuver, or whatever, before any lexicographer could capture it.

BTW, what is the maneuver?

I would think this would be more a function of medical reviews than language ones. The process, I assume, would start with academic publishing about the procedure, followed by peer review. After that I suppose it would be the medical establishment that would decide.
