Was the town of Livonia, Michigan settled by Latvians? I seem to remember that "livonian" refers to Latvia. Zmj, arnie, Tinamn, et al, whadda you say?

Almost right; it is/was an area in the Baltic, now part of Estonia, Latvia and Sweden.

There are, apparently, six places in the USA called Livonia, including two in New York. See Wikipedia.
