There is an ad that I keep seeing on Youtube that begins "We pledge to be the only car manufacturer to...".
It goes on to talk about matching California's emissions targets or something like that, but that's not really the issue. My question is this. Is their pledge logically possible unless they intend to sabotage any other car manufacturer that tries to do the same thing?

No. That statement fits in with "everybody's doing it" and "...Our whatever is better than any whatever" I'M not doing it, so either I'm not somebody or they're being hyperbolic. If your whatever is better than ANY whatever, then yours isn't a whatever. All fake advertising, IMHO.

Certainly not. To pledge to do it is one thing - but to pledge to be the only one to do it? What are they going to do? Murder their competitors?
