Since the previous game has stalled, I'll attempt to renew interest with holodomor Don't look it up, just PM me with a guess, whether serious or whimsical.

Sorry, I have been focusing on other things, like Taiwan and birthdays. I have important paperwork I need to finish, also. I promise to get to Holodomor by the end of the week, even with more relatives coming to town!

Holodomor daffynitions

Which is the real one?

1. A room, such as a barracks, wherein an entire group sleeps.

2. From Ukrainian, death by famine.

3. domestic imp or ghost, poltergeist, from the Finnish

4. HOLODOMOR - motorcycle-owners shorthand
for "HOw LOud DOes MOtor Rev?"
(as DINK is for Double Income, No Kids
and BOGO is for Buy One, Get One
and FOMO is for Fear Of Missing Out)

5. An instrument that shows the speed of
rotating blades on a helicopter.

6. The thin, curved, neck-like part of a
watering can.

5. A faux pas involving using another name
for a person instead of their real name.

6. A person whose total higher education
occurred at Notre Dame in Indiana.

7. A type of Japanese hotel where every
facility is provided in the smallest
possible space.

8. An island that is owned and inhabited by a
single person or single family.

9. Wall art from pictures; archaic.

10. a complete set of architectural drawings
and specifications for an estate and its
grounds; also, the person who creates
them

One's for real. Which is it?

I can't seem to decide, yet. Originally, this post was suppose to be my guess, but I kept changing my mind. I will try to decide soon.

This is definitely the best set of bluffing-game guesses in recent memory. My instinct says go with #2 - from Ukrainian - but I won't be surprised if that turns out to be yet another clever daffynition...

I was trying to decide between a few, but mostly 2 and 10. Since you are going for two bethree5, I'll take #10.

If Kalleh will chime in I'll post the answer, but I'd like to have Greg and Shufitz too. Where are you three?

I wonder what means “holodomor”?
Geoff asked, but now he won’t show more.
The answer we seek
But vowed not to peek--
Inquiring minds want to know more.

4 and 10 are Hab's. 9 is Kalleh's. 7 and 8 are Bob's. 5, 6, 5 & 6 (!) Boy did I goof! are Sattva's. # was Bethree5's. That leaves 1 and #2 - the real one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor Ah, yes, man's inhumanity to man. Only three guesses, two of which would have been correct had Sattva followed her initial thinking, leaving Bethree5 the well-read/fed Amerracun. Hab picked Bob's daffy.

I encountered the word here: https://www.kirkusreviews.com/...in-putins-footsteps/

I hope you do better than I did, B35!

Great game, Goeff! I realized when I read up on wiki that I have indeed encountered this term before - it went out the other ear. I picked it only because of the seeming connection to holocaust - but imagined someone could be fooling me w/that.

Well guess I'll pick up the baton. Been hoarding an interesting word.
