Okay then...back on track.
From "Lady"

(help me build a mountain)

Lady.....build a mountain

Gonna Build a Mountain, Multiple artists (Sammy Davis Jr., The Monkees, Dusty Springfield, Matt Monro)

I'm gonna build a mountain
From a little hill
I'm gonna build a mountain
At least I hope I will
I'm gonna build a mountain
I'm gonna build it high
I don't know how I'm gonna do it
I only know I'm gonna try

I'm gonna build a daydream
From a little hope
I'm gonna push that daydream
Up a mountain slope
I'm gonna build a daydream
I'm gonna see it through
I'm gonna build a mountain and a daydream
Gonna make 'em both come true

I'm gonna build a mountain
From a little hill
I'm gonna build a mountain
At least I hope I will
Gonna build a mountain
Gonna build it high
I don't know how I'm gonna do it
I only know I'm gonna try

I don't know how I'm gonna do it
I only know I'm gonna try

I don't know how I'm gonna do it
I only know I'm
I don't know how I'm gonna do it
I only know I'm
How I'm gonna do it
I only know I'm gonna try

build a mountain...daydream I just had to use this song, even though they separate the words day and dream.

Daydream
The Wallace Collection
Notes : Also performed by "Lovin' Spoonful"

What a day for a day dream,
What a day for a day dreamin' boy.
And I'm lost in a day dream,
Dreamin' 'bout my bundle of joy.
And even if time ain't really on my side,
It's one of those days for taking a walk outside.
I'm blowing the day to take a walk in the sun,
And fall on my face in somebody's new mowed lawn.

I've been havin' a sweet dream,
I've been dreamin' since I woke up today,
It's starring me in my sweet dream,
'Cause she's the one that makes me feel this way,
And even if time is passin' me by a lot,
I couldn't care less about the dues you say I got.
Tomorrow I'll pay the dues for dropping my load.
A pie in the face for being a sleepy bull toad.

And you can be sure that if you're feelin right
A day dream will last a long time into the night.
Tomorrow at breakfast you may prick up your ears,
Or you may be dreamin' for a thousand years.

Daydream ... prick up your ears

Jethro Tull - No Lullaby

Keep your eyes open and prick up your ears
Rehearse your loudest cry
But there's folk out there who would do you harm
So I'll sing you no lullaby

There's a lock on the window, there's a chain on the door
And a big dog in the hall
But there's dragons and beasties out there in the night
To snatch you if you fall

So come out fighting with your rattle in hand
Thrust and parry light
A match to catch the devil's eye
Bring across of fire to the fight

And let no sleep bring false relief
From the tension of the fray
Come wake the dead with the scream of life
Do battle with ghosts at play

And gather your toys at the call of arms
And swing your big bear down
Upon our necks when we come to set
You sleeping safe and sound

It's as well we tell no lie
To chase the face that cries
And little birds can't fly
So keep an open eye
It's as well we tell no lie
So I sing you no lullaby

It's as well we tell no lie
To chase the face that cries
And little birds can't fly
So keep an open eye
It's as well we tell no lie
So I sing you no lullaby

Keep your eyes open and prick up your ears
Rehearse your loudest cry
There's folk out there who would do you harm
So I'll sing you no lullaby

There's a lock on the window, there's a chain on the door
And a big dog in the hall
But there's dragons and beasties out there in the night
To snatch you if you fall

So come out fighting with your rattle in hand
Thrust and parry light
A match to catch the devil's eye
Bring across of fire to the fight

And let no sleep bring false relief
From the tension of the fray
Come wake the dead with the scream of life
Do battle with ghosts at play

Gather your toys at the call of arms
And swing your big bear down
Upon our necks when we come to set
You sleeping safe and sound

It's as well we tell no lie
To chase the face that cries
And little birds can't fly
So keep an open eye
It's as well we tell no lie
So I sing you no lullaby

It's as well we tell no lie
To chase the face that cries
And little birds can't fly
So keep an open eye
It's as well we tell no lie
So I sing you no lullaby

No Lullaby...I'll sing you

I'll Sing You a Song
~Neil Sedak

I'll sing you a song
That's in my heart.
You'll never know how much you mean to me,
My everything.
Looking back upon the day we met, my love,
I'll cherish that magic day.
This love that we share
Will never die.
I'll hold you close and tuck you in each night
That you're with me.
And if we are far apart
I'll always keep you in my heart
Until the day you're back with me again.
We'll share our joy,
Take it day by day,
Who knows what will be,
I only know you're right for me.
All we have are stolen hours,
Make the most of every moment,
So I'll sing this song that's in my heart
To show I care,
That's my gift to you
With a love that's true.
I'll sing my song
My song to you.
All we have are stolen hours,
Make the most of every moment,
So I'll sing this song that's in my heart
To show I care,
That's my gift to you
With a love that's true.
I'll sing my song
My song to you.

I'll sing you ... I'll sing you a song

With A Little Help From My Friends
Beatles 1967

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mmm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away
Does it worry you to be alone?
How do I feel by the end of the day
Are you sad because you're on your own?

No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mmm, get high with a little help from my friends
Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love

Would you believe in a love at first sight?
Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light?
I can't tell you but I know it's mine

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mmm, get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody?
I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody?
I want somebody to love

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mmm, gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends
Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends
With a little help from my friends

This probably isn't fair because the word "friends" doesn't appear in these limericks. But, heck. I love (still!) the sit com "Friends" so I have to post those lyrics:

I'll Be There for You
~ The Rembrandts

So no one told you life was going to be this way.
Your job's a joke, you're broke, you're love life's DOA.
It's like you're always stuck in second gear,
Well, it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.

But, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
I'll be there for you, like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.

You're still in bed at ten, the work began at eight.
You've burned your breakfast, so far, things are going great.
Your mother warned you there'd be days like these,
But she didn't tell you when the world has brought you down to your knees.

That, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
I'll be there for you, like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.

No one could ever know me, no one could ever see me.
Seems like you're the only one who knows what it's like to be me.
Someone to face the day with, make it through all the rest with,
Someone I'll always laugh with, even at my worst, I'm best with you.

It's like you're always stuck in second gear,
Well, it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.

But, I'll be there for you, when the rain starts to pour.
I'll be there for you, like I've been there before.
I'll be there for you, cause you're there for me too.

I'll Be There for You - I'll Be There

I'll Be There

As sung by Ray Price, 1954
Songwriters: JONES, STEVE
(Ray Price - Rusty Gabbard)

There ain't no chains strong enough to hold me
Ain't no breeze big enough to slow me
I never have seen a river that's too wide
There ain't no jail tight enough to lock me
Ain't no man big enough to stop me
I'll Be There if you ever want me by your side.

So love me if you're ever gonna love me
I never have seen a road too rough to ride
There ain't no jail tight enough to lock me
Ain't no man big enough to stop me
I'll Be There if you ever want me by your side.

There ain't no rope stout enough to bind me
Look for me, honey you will find me
Any old time you're ready with your charm
I'll Be There ready and a-waitin'
There won't be any hesitatin'
I'll be here if you ever want me in your arms.

So love me if you're ever gonna love me
I never have seen a road too rough to ride
There ain't no jail tight enough to lock me
Ain't no man big enough to stop me
I'll Be There if you ever want me by your side.

There are at least 17 songs titled "I'll be there."

That sentiment bears a strong resemblance to the old Supremes hit,
Ain't No Mountain High Enough

If you need me
Call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far

Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
On that you can depend and never worry

No wind (no wind)
No rain (no rain)
No winter's cold
Can stop me
Babe (Oh Babe)
Baby (Baby)
If you're not cold

Oh

No wind
No rain
Can stop me baby if you are gone

I know
I know you must follow the sun
Wherever it leads
But remember
If you should fall short of your desires
Remember life holds for you one guarantee
You'll always have me

And if you should miss my lovin'
One of these old (days)
If you should ever miss the arms that use(d) to hold you so close
Or the lips that use(d) to touch yours so tenderly
Just remember
What I told you the day I set you free

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from you

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough (say it again)
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from you

Ain't no mountain high enough
Nothing can keep me, keep me from you

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough (one more time)
Ain't no river wide enough (say it again)
To keep me from you

I'll Follow the Sun
~ Beatles

Ain't no mountain high enough ... follow the sun

One day you'll look to see I've gone
For tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
Some day you'll know I was the one
But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
And now the time has come
And so my love I must go.
And though I lose a friend,
In the end you will know, oooh.
One day you'll find that I have gone
But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
Yes, tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
And now the time has come
And so my love I must go.
And though I lose a friend,
In the end you will know, oooh.
One day you'll find that I have gone
But tomorrow may rain, so I'll follow the sun.
