So the winner of the game was Bob Hale's
Who must choose the next place for your tales
Will it be Kathmandu,
Or perhaps Timbuktu?
No Bob's easier choice is just WALES

Entries accepted by postcard, carrier pigeon, smoke signals, telegram, quantum entanglement or just good old fashioned PM.

Please Mind the gap.

And one of the front runners to replace Boris the Spider is Penny Mordaunt. If she wins she will become PM P.M. and when she is working in the afternoon she will be p.m. PM P.M.

And at certain times we could encounter p.m. PM P.M. PMT.

I asked for some limericks for Wales
But asking these days often fails
To achieve the effect
So with all due respect
Don't be such sluggardly snails

I've tried to come up with something, but to no avail. I may sit this one out.

Its a nice easy rhyme and if you sit it out we will probably end up with no more than two people. I hope you can give it a go.

It's a pity that nothing avails
In composing your verse about Wales
But I'm sure inspiration
Will end your stagnation
And a good night of sleep rarely fails

(Note the response in round numbers has been in very round numbers indeed)

Let's count up the Limericks for Wales
Well this is the fourth of Bob Hale's
But as his don't count
The real true amount
Is zero so far on the scales

Not quite zero, unless that's a critique of the trash I sent you. I'll try to write something decent.

Actually I have two now but both came in after I posted the limerick.

So..

Still looking for limericks on Wales
Proving harder than for Holy Grails
I have less than a few
But I'm up now to two
(Holds his breathe and then slowly exhales)

I've added one. Aren't you utterly thrilled? No? Oh. Sorry. At least I tried.

Oh, I see you didn't send a new post you edited your old one so I did receive it. I now have four contributions plus one that doesn't qualify for entry. But still from only two people. I demand that someone else steps up before I release them to the world. <stamps foot impatiently>

So now I have five about Wales
But from two people only, (both males)
And there must be others
So sisters and mothers
Get writing and balance the scales.

I've contacted Kalleh and Shufitz, so maybe they'll reply. I've no address for Bethree five. Maybe I have one for Tinman. Dorothy Parker, Oscar Wilde, and Ogden Nash have not responded either.

Indeed, but via the medium of a medium W.C. Fields sent one.

Philadelphia’s got nothing on Wales
A country where everyone fails
To smile, laugh or care
And what is worse there
Is nowhere on a Sunday for ales.

(During his lifetime Wales on a Sunday was dry. Sadly I have had to disqualify him as the competition rules state that all writers must be alive, or dead for no more than fifty years, at the time of their submission.)

I have one from shu in my FB messages and he said he is working on another. I just hope I don't forget that they are there. Yours hasn't arrived in my PMs though.

Got it.
A small thing but it’s better to send new posts as separate posts rather than editing the old one. There is no indication that an old pm has been edited so they are very easy to miss.

Well ten's now the total for Wales
I'm expecting one more, if that fails
I'll publish quite soon
(More would be a boon -
Only four have submitted their tales.)

Bob, I just now PM’d you another limerick. I included a copy of the one I’d previously sent to you by IM, so you’ll have both in one place.
