I live in Baiyin now.
In case you can't find anything out about it, it's a medium sized industrial city in Gansu Province in Northern China.
Beyond that there is little to say about it.

It is pronounced BI-yin though bi YIN will be acceptable if it's easier to rhyme.

Entries through the usual channels and as it's a busy time of year entries will be accepted up to around 4th Jan, maybe even later.

Gonna have to go with like BY.
That's how I say it and as I've never heard another westerner apart from my two fellow teachers say it that's what we'll go with.

There isn't a snowball's chance in hell that anyone will be able to find English rhymes for the correct Chinese pronunciation.

Friday afternoon teach
Friday evening out for dinner with a primary school teacher who wanted to discuss some demonstration lessons with us.
Saturday morning and afternoon out into the country to attend a wedding lunch.
Saturday evening full school event - teachers end of term/ New Year formal dinner including entertainment from every department including me performing poetry.
Saturday late evening into the bar until midnight but drinking only moderately because...

Sunday morning teach a demonstration primary class
Sunday lunchtime out for a wedding lunch with a different couple
Sunday afternoon teach my private tutorial students.
Sunday evening out for a thank you dinner from the Primary teacher.
Monday morning (7 am) go to the bride's house for a breakfast of noodles followed by driving out into the country again for a formal wedding celebration.

I have just returned from that and in about an hour I have to go out for dinner with my Foreign Administrator.

Assuming I don't sleep through all of tomorrow I will post the limerick game entrants.

(I should note that I don't know any of the people involved in the weddings. We were invited as friends of friends and because everyone really seems to want to have western guests at their weddings.)

And last night's dinner which I thought would be a quick meal in a noodle bar turned out to be an elaborate banquet for ten people in a very posh hotel.
It went on from six thirty to about eleven. I am completely shattered and intend to do nothing at all today.
